Zachary Begler (b. 1995, Helena, Montana) is an analog photographer who uses 4˝ x 5˝ large-format film, Polaroids, and a mixed media approach by writing on and collaging his prints, commenting on people and their relationship with place. His work examines land usage, religion, politics, iconography, and language as a violent continuation of the American Empire. He completed his BA in Film and Photography at Montana State University in 2022, where he taught undergraduates at the School of Film & Photography from 2022 to 2024. Begler currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he is pursuing his MFA in Photography at the University of New Mexico.
